Weatherly Police Department Receives Citation

Our officers are honored and proud to receive the very first unit citation in Weatherly Police Department history. This stems from an incident which began on July 29th, 2023 in Weatherly. A subject barricaded himself inside of a residence with a hostage. Our officers established a command and were recalled from their homes and left their families to come back to work and serve the people of Weatherly in a high risk incident, knowingly putting themselves in harms way to put the safety and welfare of the public first. They displayed exemplary service and showed the training and skills our Officers possess and practice on a daily basis.
