Officer Chris Belles began his law enforcement career with the Weatherly Borough Police Department in July of 2021, after successfully completing an internship with the department while attending the Lackawanna College Police Academy in Hazleton and graduating in July of 2021.  Officer Belles previously worked as a Security Guard and continues to serve his country in the service of the United States Army National Guard as a Cavalry Scout.  He has earned years of experience and skill sets to provide value to this department and community while helping others and putting others needs before his own.

Throughout his career thus far, Officer Belles strives to be a community-oriented police officer and has completed countless hours of training; some of which include the normal yearly updated training required by MPOETC, but he has been fortunate to experience some training courses that aren’t offered to many.  He has successfully earned certificates of training in numerous areas relating to the job such as SFST, ARIDE, Active Shooter Response, De-escalation Tactics, and Crime Scene Investigation.  Officer Belles also brings many military-developed skills to the department, including Expert Marksmanship, Civil Unrest Response, as well as Woodland and Urban Combat Tactics, all while exhibiting Patience, Courage, and Motivation to perform his job to the best of his ability.
