Officer Michael Eyer

Officer Michael Eyer began his law enforcement career with the Weatherly Borough Police Department in January of 2011 after successfully completing an internship with the department while attending the Lackawanna College Police Academy in Hazleton and graduating in December of 2010. Officer Eyer previously worked as a sheet metal worker out of high school and also was a volunteer firefighter for Salem Township and Berwick Borough.  Officer Eyer is a member of the PA Wildfire Specialized Crew and has been on several out of state wildfire emergencies in Utah, California, and Idaho.  He has gained years of experience in helping others and putting others needs before his own.

Throughout his career he has completed countless hours of training some of which include the normal yearly updated training required by MPOETC, but he has been fortunate to experience some training courses that aren’t offered to many, such as Incident Response to Terroristic Bombings, which is held in New Mexico.  He has successfully been certified in Traffic Patrol/Drug Interdiction, SFST, ALICE training, Active Shooter Training.  Officer Eyer is also a member of Pennsylvania Narcotics Association (PNOA), and Eastern States Vice Investigators Association (ESVIA).
