Suspicious Activity

On Tuesday May 13th 2025, Officers Eyer and Harris took multiple calls regarding a male that was going door to door claiming to be from Dish Network and trying to go into the residences. Several different locations throughout the Borough and different vehicle makes were reported, but all reported the same color vehicle. The Officers did end up locating the vehicle and were able to ID the male and get all of his information pertaining to the work he was claiming to be doing. He was informed that he needed a permit to conduct his business within the Borough, and we are in the process of speaking with his bosses to help figure out a better way and time frame to go about speaking with our residents. If this male or any person comes to your door to solicit services, ask them for their business credentials and their Borough issued soliciting permit. After looking into it, we would just like to point out that facebook is a great tool to reach out and spread information, however, if you see something out of the normal or something that you feel to warn your neighbors about on social media, our Police Department should be notified firsthand. It appeared from previous posts this male has been around for several days conducting this business. Our Officers try and monitor the local social media outlets to see what is going on that isn’t directly reported and it’s hard to effectively respond properly to reports that have been posted hours, or days prior. Don’t feel like you will be bothering us with “not an emergency”, our job is to provide service, safety, and protection to the residents and visitors of Weatherly, in any capacity, and that is what we will continue to do.

Any information received that was not released by the Weatherly Police Department is considered invalid and should not be deemed official. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
