Sergeant Graduates FBI National Academy

The Weatherly Police Department is pleased to announce that Sergeant Michael C. Bogart graduated from the 276th Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy. The FBI National Academy is an intensive 10-week long highly academic and physically challenging academy that is attended by officers from around the world. Bogart attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA from April 1st to June 7th.

Attending the National Academy is by nomination only; applicants are nominated and selected only if they demonstrate great leadership qualities. Along with 256 other high-level executive officers from around the world, Bogart’s 276th graduating Session make up the top 1% of the law enforcement from federal, state, local, and international officers. This is truly a major accomplishment for Sergeant Bogart as he is only the fifth officer from Carbon County to ever attend the FBI National Academy, and only the second officer from the Weatherly Police Department to attend, the last being Session 131 in 1982.

Sergeant Bogart commented, “This was the best experience so far in my life. I was truly honored and blessed to be learning alongside such great leaders from around the world. It was a demanding and yet highly rewarding opportunity for me.”

Sergeant Bogart is a 15-year veteran of the Weatherly Police Department. Bogart is devoted to the community that he serves and the people that he interacts with on a daily basis. The Weatherly Police Department is extremely proud of Sergeant Bogart’s dedication to the law enforcement field. Chief Markovchick remarked, “Sergeant Bogart is an integral part of the operations of the WPD. His knowledge, experience, and drive are top rate. This graduation from the FBI National Academy shows his commitment to his law enforcement profession. The National Academy experience will provide the WPD with knowledge and networking capabilities that continues to keep Sergeant Bogart as a valued asset to this department.” WPD would again like to congratulate Sergeant Bogart on his graduation from the prestigious FBI National Academy.
