Remembering George J. Albeck

George J. Albeck, 76 years of age of White Haven, Pennsylvania died on Friday, April 8, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia.

After graduating Jim Thorpe High School, Class of 1964, George led a life of serving others. He joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. George became patrolman/police officer of Jim Thorpe, PA. He advanced in career as Chief of Police of Weatherly.  After serving many years in Weatherly he moved to working cases as a Welfare Fraud Investigator in Wilkes-Barre, PA. From there George worked as a Narcotics Agent II in Philadelphia. He then became Senior Supervisory Narcotics Agent in the Financial Investigation Unit for the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General in Harrisburg, PA where he retired from the state. He continued his career with the United States Treasury as a Chief Field Coordination Section in Vienna, Virginia, where he then fully retired. The borough of Weatherly and the Weatherly Police Department would like to thank George for his service to our community and to our country.  He was a great man, and we extend our sincerest sympathies and prayers to his family. He will be missed by many, but now he may rest in eternal peace and watch over and guide his family.
