Positive Behavior Support/Intervention Program

“The WASD school-wide Positive Behavior Support/Intervention Program

(PBIS) is a behavior intervention program that teaches students to make smart choices.  When students follow that behavior matrix and demonstrate positive behaviors, they are rewarded with “Wrecker Tokens”, which they can cash in at the school store on tangible, and non-tangible items.  A newly added item, and big hit amongst the kiddos, is a “Ride in the Police car.”  Students have the opportunity to explore the WPD cruiser and hitch a ride with their favorite Officer.”  -Tiffany Huff, WASD

The Weatherly Police department would like to extend our appreciation to the WASD for allowing our Department and Officers to be a part of their daily routines, our Officers enjoy being involved with the School District along with all of the students.  It is a great and humble feeling to see how well the students interact with our Officers

and how the students, Staff and the Officers learn from each other.   Officer Harris and Officer Palermo had a great time showing these awesome “Little Wreckers” some of our equipment.  We hope this tradition continues and that it helps our youth become even more involved.
