NARCOTICS POSSESSION
On September 3rd 2024 Officer Silfee observed a vehicle being operated with an expired registration in the borough. Officer Silfee conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found the driver, Michael LYONS, 41, of McAdoo to be operating the vehicle with a DUI suspended drivers license. LYONS was displaying signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was asked out of the vehicle for further investigation. The Passenger, Bonnie McDermott, 30, of Barnesville turned over a small amount of marihuana. Upon further investigation, several bags of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia were located, which LYONS stated he purchased with US currency prior to being stopped by Officer Silfee. LYONS was taken into custody and transported to the Weatherly Police Headquarters where LYONS was charged with Possession of Controlled Substances (M), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M), Intentional Possession of Controlled Substances (M), Driving Unregistered Vehicle (S), Operation of Vehicle With Suspended License (S), and Driving Without License (S). LYONS was arraigned by Magistrate Homanko where bail was set at $10,000 unsecured. LYONS was released from custody and will appear for court before Magistrate Homanko.
