NARCOTIC DUI

On June 3rd 2024 Weatherly Police received a call for a female slumped over the wheel in a vehicle on Maple Street. A vehicle description was given and the caller attempted to render aid to the female but had no luck. Officers responded and located the vehicle parked in the opposite lane causing a traffic problem. The female was observed to be passed out in the drivers seat and the vehicle was turned on, the female also had notable signs of narcotic use. Once she was roused awake, she immediately attempted to put the vehicle into drive to leave. She then upon request produced her drivers license where she was identified as Tara A. ASHMAN, 33 of White Haven. ASHMAN was asked to to submit to Standard Field Sobriety testing and at the conclusion of testing was placed under arrest for DUI. ASHMAN was transported to the Weatherly Police Headquarters where she went through a DRE evaluation with Officer Silfee, which showed multiple signs of impairment of a controlled substance. A search warrant for ASHMAN’s blood was approved and served with her blood sent to the lab for analysis. ASHMAN was transported to her residence and turned over to a responsible party. Upon results of the toxicology analysis, 4 counts of DUI (M), 1 count illegal parking (S), and 1 count improper stop (S), were filed by Officer Eyer. ASHMAN’s preliminary arraignment and hearing at scheduled for August 7th.

Any information received that was not released by the Weatherly Police Department is considered invalid and should not be deemed official. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
