Male incarcerated after Multiple Incidents

On November 17 2023, in the early morning hours Weatherly Police Department was dispatched for a male who entered a home and appeared to be under the influence. An altercation occurred and the male spit in the victims face before leaving in his vehicle. Officers intercepted this vehicle and found the operator to be under the influence of a controlled substance with drug paraphernalia scattered in plain view in various locations in the subjects vehicle. The male was taken into custody.

At approximately 0930 hours on this same date, the male was released from custody. Multiple 911 calls were then reporting that this male was attempting to break into a vehicle using a screwdriver. Weatherly Police then responded where the male had fled on foot and was found in the basement of a home nearby. All parties involved refused to have charges filed resulting in the male being released from custody.

At approximately 1130 hours on this date Weatherly Police then observed the male operating a vehicle. Knowing he was still under the influence of a controlled substance, Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The operator then fled on foot resulting in a search of the area by multiple agencies. The subject was located and attempted to flee on foot again and to resist arrest which result in a taser deployment and the subject was then taken into custody without further incident. He was then lodged in Carbon County Correction Facility by the Magistrate.

Weatherly Police Department thanks all area agencies for their assistance with the search including Department of Conservation of Natural Resources (DCNR) Rangers, Butler Township Police Department, White Haven Police Department, Freeland Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police.
