Dogs are running off properties

Weatherly Borough residents should keep in mind of the “Animals At Large” ordinance!

This is the time of year where people are walking their dogs; children are out playing and riding bikes. The Weatherly Police Department have had several incidents where people are walking their dog on the streets and or sidewalks and unleashed dogs are running off properties and up to the dogs being walked. Some incidents have resulted in bites.

Repeat attempts to keep your pet confined to the yard may be frustrating, but every escape opens up the possibility of tragic consequences. If your dog is running loose, they are in danger of being hit by a car, biting a child or another dog walker. It is your dog and you could be held liable for any damages that your dog creates.

It is YOUR responsibility to keep your dog within your property limits. The “Animals At Large” ordinance will be strictly enforced!
