ARSON RELATED OFFENSES

On November 16th Weatherly Police along with Weatherly Fire Department were dispatched to the address of 789 East Main Street for a reported unattended fire. Upon arrival there was household furniture items burning that the fire department were able to successfully extinguish and contain. The fire was left unattended and conditions at the time were dry, windy, and gasoline was only several feet from where the fire was burning, putting not only the primary address in danger, but the homes on both sides of the residence. The homeowner, Ian KEATING, (42) of Weatherly, arrived back at the residence and spoke with Officers. KEATING was informed of the violations that were committed along with the dangerous of burning during a county wide red flag burn ban that is in effect. Charges were approved by the Carbon County DA office and an arrest warrant was issued for KEATING. On November 18th Officers located KEATING at a residence in McAdoo where he was taken into custody without incident. KEATING waived his right for out of county arraignment and was brought back to Carbon County where he was arraigned and bail was set at $150,000.00 unsecured. KEATING was then released from custody and will appear in court on charges of 1 count Arson endangering property (F2), Risking a Catastrophe (F3), Reckless Burning (F3), Disorderly Conduct (M3), Disorderly Conduct (S), and Dangerous Burning (3).
