Traffic Stop – Warrant / Controlled Substance
In the afternoon hours of July 21, 2023, The Weatherly Police Department initiated a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.
Upon further investigation it was found that the operator was driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was also in possession of that same controlled substance. It was also found that one of the passengers had an outstanding warrant from another county and was also in possession of a controlled substance. The third passenger was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The Weatherly Police Department utilized our Drug Recognition Expert who conducted an evaluation.
The wanted individual was housed in Carbon County Correctional facility.
At the conclusion of our investigation charges will then be filed on the other two individuals involved for narcotics based offenses and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
