Search Warrant at 305 First Street

On or about May 8, 2021 the Weatherly Police along with the Pennsylvania State Police Hazardous Device and Explosives Section conducted a search warrant at 305 First Street in Weatherly. The Search Warrant was in response to the borough being plagued with random explosions going within the borough limits as well as an arrest of Anthony Petrone.  

Petrone was found to have a large Homemade explosive devise in his backpack inside of the Dollar Store on May 1, 2021. The devise was taken from Petrone. Pennsylvania State Police Hazardous Device and Explosives Section responded to the Borough and safely removed the devise.

During  the search warrant, more homemade explosives and bomb making materials were found and removed from the residences. Charges Have been filed against Petrone.

 Unlawful possession of Weapon of Mass Destruction (2counts)

Risking a Catastrophe (3counts)

Prohibited offensive Weapon (2 counts)

Recklessly Endangering another person.  (3counts)

Petrone was arraigned by District Magistrate Joseph D Homanko Sr. Bail was denied  due to the risk to the public.
